Michael Clifford
I’m really bad at this blogging thing.

cliffom.net was created on May 19th, 2000. It wasn’t my first web presence, however. Before that I had eternal-bliss.com, my first jump into the world of PHP/MySQL driven websites. I was working for a company by the name of Nine Dots at the time whose claim to fame was thinking “outside of the box”. With original and forward thinking like that, how could they not be on the fast track to internet success.

eternal-bliss.com started as a learning experience for me which then became more of a hobby. I wish I had archived it but even the Internet Archive Wayback Machine has no recollection of it. My claim to fame at the time was not having a site hosted by aol or geocities. It wasn’t much fame really, more of a friendly following.

cliffom.net was born out of my desire to actually identify my personal presence on the web. In highschool our CS usernames were issued by the first six letters of our last name (cliffo) and our first initial (m). cliffom always had a nice ring to it. More PHP. More MySQL. Photo galleries. No software was good enough for me, “roll your own” I said! It seems I had all the time in the world to implement my newfound knowledge.

This is turning into a long-winded story and I have neither the time nor energy to go on. I have a real job and a family these days (yes, my cat counts). I do however miss the writing (which after reading this, I have gotten really bad at). I need to come here more often. A couple of you (yes, I see you) still come here now and then. Maybe I’ll get back into this.

Maybe I’ll enjoy it.

Maybe I’ll even renew my Flickr Pro account.

What will I do while you are away?

Flickr just taught me how to say “Hello” in Turkish. Don’t tell my Armenian friends that.

Facebook general error: Lovely how the latter option is to come back in a couple of days.
Yes, I use catbook.

Animal bits

It makes me a little sad when you get to the bottom of Trader Joe’s Animal Crackers and the only parts remaining are dismembered bodies.

Losing weight has finally cost me something: $200 to have my wedding band resized. Going from size 13 to size 9 with a floated diamond is no small task.
